FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) — Police say they have charged the son of a Fayetteville couple with killing them in the home they all shared.

Lt. David McLaurin said in a statement that officers were called about 10 p.m. Wednesday to check on the people at the home.

Authorities say 62-year-old Delilah Miles and her 66-year-old husband, John, were found shot to death.

McLaurin says investigators arrested 32-year-old John Miles Jr. near Miami. He has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of robbery.

Authorities say the suspect is awaiting an extradition hearing asking him to be returned to North Carolina. It wasn’t known if he had a lawyer.
