ROCKINGHAM — The final four teams are set.

The Adult Church Softball League saw Second Baptist hold off a seventh-inning rally from East Rockingham No. 1 on Monday night to advance to the Final Four of the league’s playoffs — winning by a score of 11-10.

East Rockingham No. 1 found itself down 11-4 heading into the bottom of the seventh, but refused to give up. It scored six runs to bring itself within one run before a runner got called out at first as he tried to make his way back to base — ending East Rockingham’s chances at the come-from-behind win.

With the victory, Second Baptist joins Faith Baptist, East Rockingham No. 2 and Hamlet Church of God as the last teams standing. Second Baptist will face East Rockingham No. 2 in one of the two semifinal games, while Hamlet Church of God and Faith Baptist will square off in the other.

The league, which has been ran by Dale Denson since 1985, will see a new champion this year, as Outreach — last year’s winner — did not participate this season.

The championship game will take place Thursday evening at East Rockingham Park.
