Lovely Hill Missionary Baptist Church to host annual Father’s Day service

SATURDAY

SPRING HILL WESLEYAN CHURCH, Hamlet, will have a one-day vacation Bible school from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with lunch provided. The theme will be “Yo Ho Holy… A Pirate’s Guide To Jesus.”

NEW HOPE MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 1596 U.S. 74 E., Hamlet, will have its missionary circle meeting at 10 a.m. followed by men’s choir rehearsal at 11.

SUNDAY

MAPLE STREET FREE WILL BAPTIST CHURCH, 142 Maple St., Rockingham, will have its camp meeting at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday and at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. June 20-23. There will be two preachers in the morning services and one preacher in the evening services with special singing. Lunch will be provided Monday through Thursday following the morning services.

ST. LUKE NO. 2 FREE WILL BAPTIST CHURCH, 119 Morrow St., Hamlet, will have Pastor Darrell McSween preach its 10:30 a.m. morning service. The public is invited.

ST. PAUL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 311 Marlboro St., Hamlet, invites the community to a service of Holy Communion beginning at 11 a.m. As part of the service, the congregation will pray “A Litany Against Gun Violence,” prepared in the aftermath of the events in Orlando, Florida. LOVELY HILL MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 120 Lincoln St., Rockingham, will have its annual Father’s Day service at 11 a.m. with guest speaker Dr. Fred McQueen Jr. of Marston. The public is invited.

SNOW HILL MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, Mount Gilead, will have its pastor’s aid program, women in hats and men in bow ties, at 2:30 p.m. The guest speaker will be the Rev. David “Sonny” Ledbetter of High Point.

PRAYER DELIVERANCE MINISTRIES, 108 School St., Rockingham, hosts a feeding program for the homeless each Wednesday.

FAITH ASSEMBLY OUTREACH MINISTRIES will be having a soup kitchen 9 to 10:15 a.m. every Sunday and from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. every Tuesday. No one is turned away. Food furnished by the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina and donations.

FAITH ASSEMBLY OUTREACH MINISTRIES, 148 Daniels St., Hamlet, offers Sunday morning breakfast and delivery at 9 a.m., Sunday school at 10:30 a.m. and morning worship at 11:45 a.m. Every second Sunday, it will offer its Sister 2 Sister program at 4:30 p.m. The church will have its Tuesday soup kitchen at 5:45 p.m., Tuesday Bible study at 7 p.m., Friday morning food box at 10:30 a.m., Friday night service at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday morning food box at 10:30 a.m.

ST. PAUL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 311 Marlboro St., Hamlet, invites those without a church home or new to the community to worship with its congregation on Sunday mornings at 11 a.m. and to share in the mission to feed the hungry of the community. With a more traditional worship, St. Paul observes the church year calendar of Sundays and seasons. BEVERLY HILLS BAPTIST CHURCH, 110 Kemberly St., Rockingham, will have its vacation Bible school from 6 to 8:30 p.m. with registration from 5 to 5:30 p.m. June 24, 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. June 25 and 10 a.m. to noon June 26. The grand finale will be at 6 p.m. June 26 with a hot dog supper to be held in the Family Life Center. The public is invited.

ELLERBE FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 2281 N. Main St., Ellerbe, will have a morning day camp for Kindergarten through 8th grade children from 8 to 11 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays July 11-Aug. 12. The free camp will provide breakfast, healthy snacks, reading and writing enrichment and special activities with regular visits to Kemp Library, Rankin Museum and Discovery Place Kids.

FAITH TEMPLE HOLINESS CHURCH, 217 Rummage Pack Road, Ellerbe, invites all choirs to participate in its youth gospel explosion at 6 p.m. on July 16. All soloists, choirs and groups are welcome.

TRINITY EMMANUEL HOLINESS CHURCH, 130 Entwistle 3rd St., East Rockingham, will have its vacation Bible school from 6:30 to 9 p.m. nightly July 18-22. The theme will be “Great Men of the Bible,” with classes for all ages. On July 23 there will be a fun day beginning at 11 a.m.
