MONTHLY FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT will be held at 7 p.m. at Cordova Baptist Church. The feature presentation for this month will be “Courageous.” Popcorn and drinks will be provided. For more information, call 910-895-4045.

OUTDOOR MOVE NIGHT will begin at 8:15 p.m. at Timbers Crossing Free Will Baptist Church, 277 Loch Haven Road, Rockingham. The movie being shown is Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors. COUNTRY BREAKFAST will be from 6:30 to 10 a.m. at Pee Dee Methodist Church in Rockingham. Price is $6 for three meats, grits, sausage gravy and homemade biscuits and is all-you-can-eat.

MEGA MERCHANDISE SALE will take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Wayman Chapel Church, 1923 Osborne Road, Hamlet.

THE HAMLET SENIOR CENTER ADVENTURE CLUB will depart at 8:30 a.m. from the senior center to travel to Burgaw, North Carolina, for the Blueberry Festival. Cost is $5 per person.

FATHER’S DAY PICNIC AND FISH FRY sponsored by First Baptist Church in Hamlet’s men’s ministry will begin at 11 a.m. with a choice of fish, chicken or grilled chicken plates for $7. Hot dogs, hamburgers and fish sandwiches will also be available for $3. The church is located at 329 West Ave., Hamlet.

TOWN OF HOFFMAN SUMMER ENRICHMENT CAMP will be held from June 20-Aug. 4 at the Hoffman Complex Center, 2176 Caddell Road. The camp will run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday. There is a registration fee of $25 per child and will include breakfast and lunch during camp operation, T-shirt, field trips and other activities. CUB SCOUTS OF THE PEE DEE DISTRICT will offer a summer day camp from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 20-24 at Fellowship United Methodist Church in Hamlet. This year’s theme is “Cub Scout Games,” and participating Scouts will train to be champions in camping, science, cooking and more, all while learning about sportsmanship, teamwork, fair play and doing their best. Richmond County Schools has partnered with the Cub Scouts to provide a nutritious breakfast and lunch for all campers. The cost of the camp is $50 and includes a T-shirt, patch, snacks and supplies. RICHMOND COUNTY SCHOOLS will offer bus driver classes at 8:30 a.m. June 21-23 at the Richmond County Schools Central Office, 118 Vance St., Hamlet. HAMLET HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1960 will meet for lunch at 12:30 p.m. at Jones Café on Main.

HAMLET AMERICAN LEGION POST 49 AND SONS OF THE LEGION SQUADRON 49 will hold their monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the post home on Veterans Drive. Newly elected officers and members of the executive committee will be installed at this meeting. There will not be a meeting in July, but will resume meetings in August.

ROBERDEL COMMUNITY WATCH will meet at 6:30 p.m. at Roberdel Baptist Church.

RICHMOND RED HATS will meet for lunch at noon at Wendy’s on U.S. 74 Business in Rockingham.

June 23

VETERAN’S BREAKFAST AND LEARN presented by Richmond County Aging Services will be from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Ellerbe Senior Center, 306 Millstone Road, Ellerbe. The free event will feature a flag honor guard presentation, retired special forces Master Sergeant David O’Neal, James Parker with the NC Department of Commerce and local veterans’ service officer Tonia Hildreth. DINNER SALE will begin at 10:30 a.m. at Greater Diggs Chapel AME Zion Church, 1258 Old Cheraw Highway, Rockingham and will feature a menu of fish, chicken, baked beans, string beans, corn, coleslaw, cabbage, cornbread, rolls, dessert and drinks. SUMMER 2016 LITTER SWEEP hosted by Ellerbe Mayor Lee Berry and the town council will take place from 8 to 11 a.m. Those willing to help clean up Ellerbe and pick up roadside trash can sign up at the town hall on 108 W. RICHMOND COUNTY SENIOR SYMPOSIUM AND DOG SHOW will be from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Cole Auditorium in Hamlet. Classes to be held include Medicare 101, Diabetes, Tai Chi, Scams, ID Fraud, SHIIP and Cardiac Care. The dog show will be from 2 to 4 p.m. with a $5 donation to the Humane Society. Adoption fee will be waived to those 60 and older who wish to adopt a dog. There will be door prizes, and lunch will be provided. July 1

HOT DOG SALE from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at J.C. Penney in the Richmond Plaza Shopping Center. Hot dog plates are $5 each and include two hot dogs, bag of chips and drink. Proceeds will benefit the United Way of Richmond County.

July 9

WATER BLAST presented by Sister Circle Women of Color will be from noon to 3 p.m. at Falling Creek Park, 405 Hood St., Rockingham. The free event will feature water slides, swimming pools, food and a live DJ. Bring a lawn chair, bathing suit and towels.

July 11

MORNING DAY CAMP PROGRAM for youth in Kindergarten through 8th grade will take place from 8 to 11 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from July 11-Aug. 12 at Ellerbe First United Methodist Church, 2281 N. Main St., Ellerbe. The free program will provide breakfast, healthy snacks, reading and writing enrichment and special activities with regular visits to Kemp Library, Rankin Museum and Discovery Place Kids.
