CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Police in Charlotte say no one was hurt when someone fired a BB gun at a school bus.
Police spokesman Keith Trietley said in a statement that the shooting happened shortly after 8:45 a.m. Wednesday.
Trietley said the bus driver told officers that someone fired at the bus carrying 47 children to Idlewild Road Elementary School. One of the bus windows was shattered.
The spokesman said officers found a 17-year-old suspect in a nearby house and are questioning him about the shooting. Officers found the BB gun used in the shooting.
No charges have been filed.
