FLETCHER, N.C. (AP) — The Mountain State Fair is about to begin a 10-day run near Asheville.
The fair at the Western North Carolina Agricultural Center in Fletcher will feature some new attractions and some old favorites when it opens Friday.
The fair attracted 190,000 visitors last year.
The fair features more than 40 rides and games across the midway, along with more than 75 concession stands. Vendors will offer everything from deep-fried cookies to ostrich burgers. A craft show has been expanded.
There are a dozen entertainment acts and lots of animals on display.
The fair runs through Sept. 18.
