NORLINA, N.C. (AP) — A North Carolina police chief says a man wanted for killing his son and wounding his ex-wife before using Facebook to admit to the attack might have been spotted in Richmond, Virginia.

Norlina Police Chief Taylor Bartholomew said Wednesday afternoon that authorities are still looking for Earl Valentine, who is charged with murder in the death of his 15-year-old son early Tuesday morning.

Bartholomew said witnesses reported seeing Valentine in Richmond on Wednesday morning, although that has not been confirmed. Both Valentine and his ex-wife, Keisha Valentine, have relatives in that area.

Richmond police department spokesman James Mercante said officers are looking for Valentine.

Bartholomew said Keisha Valentine was in surgery again Wednesday, still in critical condition.

The FBI is and U.S. marshals are helping in the search.
