CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say a woman has been shot to death while she was inside an apartment.
A statement from police identified the victim as 20-year-old Donsha Seren Rankin.
According to police, officers received a call Tuesday night and when they arrived at the apartment south of uptown, they found Rankin with a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel.
The police statement said initial information showed there were a number of people inside of the apartment when the shooting occurred. Authorities say it appears that the victim and suspect knew each other. So far, no arrests have been made.
