Father, son charged in shooting that injured 2 brothers


YANCEYVILLE, N.C. (AP) — A father and son have been arrested in connection with a shooting that left two brothers wounded last week at a Caswell County cookout.

The Times-News of Burlington reports (http://bit.ly/2cz6P7F) 21-year-old Takanta Jarrod Thompson was charged with two counts of felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury in Thursday’s shooting.

Authorities say 21-year-old Jason Reynolds and 26-year-old Tremaine Reynolds were shot in the chest and taken to the hospital. Their conditions are unknown.

Investigators believe Thompson shot the two brothers at an apartment complex. He was later arrested in Danville, Virginia.

Caswell County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Capt. Frank Rose says Thompson’s father, 50-year-old Takanta Lee Thompson, is accused of driving his son away from the scene of the shooting. He’s facing felony accessory charges.
