RAHWAY, N.J. (AP) — Authorities in New Jersey say a man sought in the sex assault of a child four years ago has been captured in North Carolina.

Union County prosecutors are working to extradite 48-year-old Wilfredo Cabrera, whose bail was set at $150,000. He faces sex assault and child endangerment charges.

Cabrera was arrested Thursday without incident after investigators tracked him to a home in Pineville, North Carolina. It wasn’t known Sunday if he has retained an attorney.

Prosecutors say Cabrera sexually assaulted a child under the age of 13 in 2012, when he rented a room in a Rahway building where the victim lived. Authorities sought to arrest him in July but soon learned he had fled the state.

Cabrera faces more than 10 years in prison if convicted on both counts.
