CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Officials say a body discovered last week in Cabarrus County has been identified as that of a Charlotte woman who, along with two wanted co-workers, went missing earlier this month.
News outlets report Charlotte-Mecklenburg police confirmed Monday that the remains found in a wooded area Wednesday are those of 23-year-old Tru Quan Le.
Police had been searching for days for Le, 19-year-old Ahmia Feaster and a 17-year-old boy.
Investigators said last week that they were investigating Le’s disappearance as a homicide.
Police said warrants have been issued for Feaster and the 17-year-old charging them with possession of a stolen vehicle after Le’s car was recovered in Phoenix. Feaster and the 17-year-old are believed to have crossed into Mexico.
The three knew each other from working at a local restaurant.
