Man charged in quadruple slaying at Greenville townhome

GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) — A man accused of killing four people, including a mother and her three children, in Greenville has been arrested.

Greenville police tell media outlets that 39-year-old Dibon Jab Toone was taken into custody just before midnight Tuesday near Richmond, Virginia.

Toone is charged with killing the woman and her three children, all under the age of 10, inside a home at West Pointe Townhomes. The names and cause of death haven’t been released yet.

Authorities performing a welfare check found the victims’ bodies around 8 p.m. after concerned family members called them and they could not be reached.

Greenville Police Chief Mark Holtzman named Toone as a suspect in the slaying. Police believe he was in a relationship with the woman and lived at the home.
