NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — Authorities say the body of a Chesapeake Bay fisherman who disappeared in October could wash up in North Carolina.

The Virginian-Pilot newspaper reports (http://bit.ly/2ar5b8H) that officials are asking Outer Banks residents to look out for the man’s remains. After failing to recover to his body, rescuers say the currents may have carried his remains southward.

Richard Nee was on a fishing boat with friends near the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel when the 50-year-old apparently fell overboard during rough seas.

The Coast Guard and other agencies searched for 55 hours and covered 700 miles without success. Authorities say the efforts in North Carolina will hopefully bring his family some closure.
