FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) — Authorities say a man who caused a wreck that killed five people in Fayetteville last month has been arrested after spending a month in the hospital.

Police said in a news release that 22-year-old Terek Johnson is currently being held in jail on a $522,000 bond after being released from the hospital Tuesday.

Johnson is charged with five counts of involuntary manslaughter, reckless driving to endanger the public, driving while impaired and other charged from the June 29 wreck.

Police say Johnson lost control of his Ford Mustang while speeding and hit two other cars on a Fayetteville city street. Four people died at the scene and a fifth died at the hospital. Johnson and two others were injured and survived.
