Oppressive, dangerous heat to continue across most of NC

GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) — Forecasters are warning it will be another dangerously hot day across much of North Carolina.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for almost all of the state east of Charlotte and Winston-Salem on Wednesday.

Forecasters say highs will be in the mid to upper 90s, and the humidity will continue to be oppressive, making it feel hotter than 105 degrees.

It has been a hot July in many places. This is the fourth day in a row for a heat advisory in Raleigh, and in some eastern parts of North Carolina this is the 10th day with a heat advisory this month.

There may be some relief in sight. Forecasters say highs should drop below 90 in almost the entire state by early next week.
