RICHLANDS, N.C. (AP) — Authorities in Onslow County are looking for a suspect in a stabbing death that they say stemmed from a dispute over money.

Maj. Chris Thomas with the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office told local news outlets that dispatchers received a call around 10:30 p.m. Monday for a dispute on a street just outside of Richlands. When deputies arrived, they found one person who had been stabbed to death. Thomas said two other people were hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries and released.

Thomas said the sheriff’s office has identified one suspect, but no one is in custody. Names of those involved have yet to be released, pending notification of family members.
