AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) — A man accused of traveling across state lines to have sex with someone he thought was a 14-year-old girl has been indicted.
The Augusta Chronicle reports (http://bit.ly/2afaVAQ) a federal grand jury issued an indictment July 6 against Hoguer Carachure Durate, charging him with traveling with the intent to engage in illicit sexual contact.
The indictment says Durate traveled March 14 from North Carolina to Lincoln County, Georgia, to have a sexual encounter with a 14-year-old girl.
Hearings and a possible trial will be held in U.S. District Court in Augusta.
It’s unclear if Durate has an attorney.
