WAXHAW, N.C. (AP) — The State Highway Patrol says two 14-year-old boys lead troopers on a chase before crashing into a Union County home.

Local media outlets report that early Tuesday, one of the teens was driving a van and made an illegal U-turn. A trooper tried to pull the van over, but the teens took off.

Authorities say the chase reached speeds of 120 mph. When the teens wouldn’t stop, troopers used a pit maneuver to knock them off the road.

The van crashed into a house in Waxhaw. Nobody was inside the house at the time, and the boys were not injured.

The boys were turned over to their parents. Officials say they will be contacting the Department of Juvenile Justice to determine if the teens will face charges.
