BAHAMA, N.C. (AP) — Durham County sheriff’s deputies say the search has been suspended for a fisherman reported missing in Little River Lake near Bahama.
Sheriff’s spokeswoman Tamara Gibbs said in a statement that the North Carolina Wildlife Commission will continue to patrol the area where the fisherman was last seen, in hopes of finding the body.
Deputies say a bystander rescued one person when a canoe capsized late Sunday morning. The man was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Deputies say neither of the men was wearing a life jacket when the canoe flipped.
The names of those in the canoe have not been released.
