Man wanted in Utah for allegedly beating pregnant girlfriend


SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A North Carolina man is facing charges in Utah for allegedly beating his pregnant girlfriend at a hotel.

KSL-TV of Salt Lake City reports (http://bit.ly/29p5YDH) that a warrant was issued Friday for the arrest of 35-year-old William Sherrick, of Sanford, on two counts of attempted murder.

According to charging documents, Sherrick allegedly punched, kicked, strangled and stomped on the victim at a Motel 6 in Salt Lake last month.

He allegedly whipped the woman with a belt before wrapping it around her throat.

The victim called Salt Lake police.

Officers say they found her lying on the bed, unable to get up.

She suffered multiple wounds to her face and torso.

She told officers that Sherrick said he would “beat my baby out of you.”
