WENTWORTH, N.C. (AP) — A Rockingham County woman has pleaded guilty to selling her two mentally disabled daughters as prostitutes.

Multiple media outlets reported the woman pleaded guilty Tuesday in court in Wentworth to all 48 charges in an Eden prostitution ring.

The 52-year-old Eden woman had been charged with 24 counts of child abuse by prostitution and 24 counts of promoting prostitution with a minor with a disability.

The woman was sentenced to between six and 13 years in prison on charges of child abuse by prostitution. She received the same sentence for promoting prostitution with a minor with a disability.

Three men were also charged with sex crimes as part of the investigation.

The women’s children are in protective custody.
