INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — A federal judge will hold a hearing this week to consider blocking Indiana’s new abortion restrictions law from taking effect.

That law signed in March by Gov. Mike Pence includes a provision banning abortions sought because of a fetus’ genetic abnormalities.

Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky sued the state in April, calling the law unconstitutional and seeking an injunction preventing it from taking effect July 1.

The hearing is scheduled for Tuesday.
