Ruby Arlean Poplin, Age, 82, of Rome, Ga., passed away Monday January 21th in a Rome, Ga .Medical center.
Mrs. Poplin was born January 22, 1930 in Wilmington, North Carolina to the late James Ganey and Ruby Cook Ganey. Mrs. Poplin was always doing for others. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed studying the Bible visiting the homebound, and teaching young children the Word.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James H Poplin Sr. in 2000, by a son James H Poplin Jr, in 2012, and by a brother Owen Ganey.
Survivors include her son, Brent(Janet) Poplin, sister, Shirley (Joe) Taylor, a brother, Jimmy (Gladys) Ganey. Grandchildren, Krissy (Jamie) Smith. Katie (Adam) Whitman, Benjamin O.Poplin, Jeff Hooper. Greatgrandchildren Nicholas Hooper and Brianna Smith. A daughter in law Deborah Poplin. Nieces and nephews also survive. The family respectively asks in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Salvation Army.
Visitation for Mrs. Poplin will be Thursday January 24th from 10am to 12 noon at the West Rome Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 Noon with ministers Ken Oates and Jarrod Roberts officiating, interment to follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
