Evelyn Jones Grant, 62, of 122 W. Temple Ave., Rockingham, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 26, in the Trinity Emmanuel Holiness Church with Pastor Timmy Blackwell and Rev. Jeff Goudelock officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening Nov. 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Trinity Emmanuel Holiness Church and other times at the home, 122 W. Temple Ave., Rockingham.

A lifelong resident of Richmond County, Evelyn was born on Feb. 9, 1950, to the late Harvey J. and Lillian Elmore Jones. Prior to her illness she had worked in textiles for Wade Manufacturing. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Donald Ray Jones and Harvey J. Jones Jr.

She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Ben Grant; a son, Chuck Newton of Ellerbe; a daughter, Ashley Newton Allred of Robbins; a brother, Charles Jones of Rockingham; five sisters, Rachel Wallace and Barbara Grant both of Rockingham, Pearl Williams of Jonesboro, Ga., Louise Buck of Cordova, Linda Kelly of Wadesboro; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Russell-Marks Funeral Home and Cremation Service is assisting the family.
