Mr. David Warren McDonald, 64, of 145 Hallmark Ave., Hamlet, died Thursday, November 15, 2012 in the FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, November 19, at 3:00 PM in the Highland Acres Church of God with Pastor James Bailey officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at Richmond County Memorial Park.

David was born in Bennettsville, SC, on July 3, 1948 to Marie Perkins. He retired from the Rockingham office of the Employment Security Commission, was a member of Highland Acres Church of God, and was a volunteer with the Literacy Council. In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by a brother, Bob McDonald, and a sister, Peggy Macey.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Sellers McDonald; a son, David Wayne McDonald of Wake Forest; a daughter, Robin Lascallette of Wake Forest; two stepsons, Ricky and Ronald Hall both of Rockingham; two stepdaughters, Vickie Taylor of Hamlet, Wendy Oliver of Canton, OH; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and special niece Melody Robinson.

In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to FirstHealth Hospice, 251 Campground Road, Pinehurst, NC 28374.

The family will receive friends following the service and other times at the home.
