Pauline May King Hinkle, 89, of 1906 Park Ave., Rockingham, died Friday, May 18, 2012, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Rev. Bryan Blackwell and Rev. Dr. A.B. Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Eastside Cemetery.

The family will see friends from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. Tuesday at the church and at other times at the home on Park Avenue.

Mrs. Hinkle was born Dec. 20, 1922, in Bridgeton, R.I., a daughter of the late Fredrick Walter and Mildred May Carter King. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church for over 50 years. She had previous worked at Ethel's Flower Shop and retired as floor supervisor for the cloth room at JP Stevens.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Levi Hinkle, an infant son, brothers, Fred W. King III, Arnold King, Leon King and a sister, Mildred Goff.

Surviving are her daughters, Sharon Covington and Evelyn Davis, both of Rockingham; four grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and sisters, Martha Davis of Nathalie, Va., and Dorothy Conner of Aberdeen.
