Johnsie Freeman Belch, 91, 500 Mountain Top Drive, Asheboro, formerly of Greensboro, died Friday, May 4, 2012, at Clapp’s Nursing Home in Asheboro.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, May 6, at Mary Love Cemetery, Hamlet, at 5 p.m. Burial will follow.

She was born in Hamlet on Sept. 1, 1920, daughter of Ira LeGrand Freeman and Sadie Florence Edwards Freeman. Mrs. Belch retired from CSX Railroad in 1984 and was a graduate of Hamlet High School Class of 1938.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Horace “Brownie” Brown and Charles M. Belch; sons, Robert LeGrand Brown and William Stannart Brown; brother, baby boy Freeman; and sister, Marion Freeman.

She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Brown McNeill of Greensboro; and three grandchildren.
