Mrs. Catherine Morrison Dillehay, 89, of 200 Stacy Avenue, Hamlet died Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Hospice Haven in Rockingham. She was born September 2, 1923 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Malcolm and Mamie Floyd Morrison.

Mrs. Dillehay was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hamlet. She was a retired bookkeeper, having maintained the records of her husband’s auto repair business in Hamlet for twenty two years. Prior to this, Mrs. Dillehay was a medical secretary with Dr. Joe Robinson in Hamlet and UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. During World War II, she worked as a secretary with the Department of the Navy in Washington, DC. Mrs. Dillehay had been a member of the Hamlet Women’s Club and Hamlet Garden Club.

The family will receive and visit with friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Watson-King Funeral Home in Hamlet and other times at the home.

Mrs. Dillehay is survived by her husband of seventy years, Austin Dillehay; four grandchildren, Mike Booker of Dahlonega, GA, Chris Booker of Waxhaw, Jackie Booker of Atlanta, GA and Marc Bowen of Hamlet; four great grandchildren, Austin Booker, Josh Booker, Taylor Whitley, and Christopher Whitley; two sisters, Ruth McDaniel of Hamlet and Sara Greathouse of Clinton, MD; two brothers, Alex Morrison and Archie Morrison, both of Hamlet. Mrs. Dillehay was preceded in death by two daughters, Anne Dillehay Booker and Susan Dillehay Bowen.
