Mr. and Mrs. Alan Poe of Lilesville are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Megan Christine Poe to Nicholas Andrew Prieto.
Megan is a 2006 graduate of Anson High School in Wadesboro, and a 2010 graduate from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice. Megan is currently employed as a Deputy Sheriff with the Anson County Sheriff’s Office. She also works as an assistant, with Majorettes By Melaine.
The bride-elect’s maternal grandparents are the late Morris and Frances Brown. Her paternal grandparents are Harold and Linda Poe of Lilesville, North Carolina.
Nick is a 2002 graduate of Richmond Senior High School in Rockingham, North Carolina. Lieutenant Prieto received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology in 2007 from North Carolina State University and currently serves as an Infantry Rifle Platoon Leader in C Company, 1st Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
The groom-elect is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Prieto of Rockingham. He is the grandson of Betty Unuchek and the late Nicholas Unuchek of Rockingham. His paternal grandmother is Margie Prieto of Eight Mile, Ala., and grandfather, the late Benjamin Prieto.
The wedding will take place at Gum Springs Baptist Church, 3520 Haileys Ferry Road in Lilesville, on Saturday, May 25, 2013. Formal invitations will be mailed.
