Richmond Senior High School will celebrate homecoming from Sept. 20 through 24.

RSHS Principal Cory Satterfield said everyone is excited about homecoming, and want to ensure students have an enjoyable week.

“We are excited about this time and want to make sure that everyone can make great memories,” Satterfield said. “There are guidelines that we expect all students to follow. We want to make sure that parents, faculty and staff enforce these guidelines and make sure that students understand them.”

The guidelines for students during spirit week are listed below:

n At no time may a student expose their shoulders, chest, back, stomach or under garments in any outfit they are wearing during any day of Spirit Week.

n At no time may students wear full face paint or masks during any day of Spirit Week.

n At no time may students mass and march in a group anywhere on the RSHS campus during Spirit Week.

n At no time may students arrive on the RSHS campus in alternative modes of transportation during Spirit Week, such as tanks, fire trucks, tractor trailers, or horses.

n At no time may students wear clothes that refer to the graduating class of any group during Spirit Week 2011, 2012, 2013, Sophomore, Junior or Senior.

The schedule for the week includes:

n Monday - Blast From the Past Day

Dress up in your best old fashioned attire. Outfits must be from the 1930’s to the 1970’s. Students may wear blue jeans on this day if it is part of the Blast From the Past outfit, but they may not wear blue jeans and a t-shirt and say that is their outfit. Students may also wear hats that go with their outfits.

n Tuesday - Twin or Pair Day. On this day, two students dress the same, for example as a king and queen, Jack and Jill or Bart and Homer Simpson. However, no face paint or masks allowed.

n Wednesday - Mis-Match Clothing Day. No inappropriate clothing will be allowed. Students may come to school in clothing that doesn’t match, is colorful or strange, and may include such things as mis-matched shoes, hats or wigs.

n Thursday - Camouflage Day. Students may not wear blue jeans on this day, but should wear camouflage pants with camouflage or black t-shirts. They will be allowed to wear camouflage hats with their outfits, but no full face paint will be allowed.

n Friday - Green and Gold Day. Students may dress up in their best green and gold outfit on this day, and may wear blue jeans - if they are decorated in green and gold. However, the clothing may not reference any specific graduating class. Students may wear hats if they are decorated in green and gold, but no full face paint is allowed.

n Students not dressing up for Spirit Week must be in the correct school uniform each day.
