Harold F. Brown Jr., 80, of Morganton, died May 23, 2010 following a period of declining health.  He was born Feb. 6, 1930 in Richmond County and was the son of the late Harold Fowlkes Brown, Sr. and Marie Honeycutt Brown. 

Harold is survived by his wife, Ella Smith Brown of the home; a son, David W. Brown and wife, Pam of Morganton; a daughter, Nannette Isaacs and husband, Jim of Marion; granddaughter, Meagan Isaacs of Marion; his sister, Betsy Easter of Hamlet; nephews, Joseph Easter of Charlotte, Mark Easter of Tapahannock, VA, and Timothy Easter of Burlington; and an uncle, Stanford Honeycutt of Anderson, S.C.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at the First Baptist Church, Morganton.  The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1 until 2 p.m. in the church parlor.  Memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Rd., Valdese, NC  28690.  Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
