Richmond County voters favoring Kissell, D'Annunzio

Incumbent Congressman Larry Kissell held a two-to-one edge over Democratic challenger Nancy Shakir in early voting in Richmond County.

With eight of 16 precincts in, Kissell had 3,276 votes (66.9 percent) compared to 1,621 for Shakir.

In the GOP primary for Congress, Tim D’Annunzio was the local choice with 342 votes (45.9 percent). He was followed by Harold Johnson with 28 percent, Hal Jordan with 14.6 percent, Darrell Day with 7 percent, Lou Huddleston with 3.2 percent and Lee Cornelison with 1.2 percent.
