Mrs. Nila L. Clarke, 73, of Rockingham, passed away Monday, March 15, 2010 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital. She was born Oct. 5, 1936 in Richmond County a daughter of the late, William Onzy and Alberta Patrick Ludlum. Mrs. Clarke was a member of Victory Baptist Church and a homemaker.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church with Rev. Russell Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond County Memorial Park.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, William Lee Ludlum, Hurtis Ludlum, and Jimmy Dale Ludlum.

Surviving are her husband of 33 years, Carl H. Clarke of the home; three sons, Thomas Ray Webb, Sr. and his wife, Rebecca Dianne of Rockingham, Ronnie G. Webb and his wife, Pat of Rockingham, and Steve L. Clarke and his wife, Kay of Rockingham; two step sons, Russell Clarke of Atlanta, GA and Stephen J. Clarke and his wife, Mary of Myrtle Beach, SC; two daughters, Christine Maclaire and her husband, Ken of Southern Pines and Gail Cagle of Cordova; a brother, Fred Ludlum and his wife, Edna Mae of Sunset Beach; eight grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 16, 2010 from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Watson-King Funeral Home in Rockingham.
