Terry Vance Strickland, 44, of Carolina Beach, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, with family at his side after fighting for his life for 2 1/2 years.

He was preceded in death by his father Bo Strickland and his brother Tim Strickland of Rockingham.

He is survived by his wife, Debra Strickland of the home, three sons, Burnie, George and Tommy Richardson all of Wilmington; his mother, Sybil Mabe and husband Arthur of Rockingham; two sisters, Sherry Reynolds and husband Tommy of Hamlet and Brenda Lill and husband Richard of Rockingham; his grandmother, Etheleen Chase of Snow Hill; nine Grandchildren, three nieces and two nephews.

Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Home in Wilmington. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 18, 2009 at Northern Cemetery in Rockingham.
