Lois Jernigan Pate died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009 at her home. She was born Dec. 2, 1923 in Orangeburg County, South Carolina a daughter of the late Edgar and Bertha Kittrell Jernigan.

Mrs. Pate was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Hamlet.

She was preceded in death by her husband Earl Howard Pate, Jr., a brother, Edgar Jernigan, Jr. and a sister Vera Jernigan Delaney.

A memorial service will be conducted Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Bishop officiating.

Surviving are a daughter, Debra Linn Pate of the home; Two sons, Earl Pate III (Booty) and wife Trudy and Richard H. Pate all of Rockingham. Grandchildren, Shannon Pate of Rockingham Earl H. Pate IV, Fayetteville, NC. Sisters, Gladys Jernigan Meyer of Columbus, GA and Betty Jernigan Breck of Bonifay, FL. Niece Brenda Booker Frye of Supply, and a nephew Jack Booker and wife Martha of Buford, GA.

The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the church and at other times at her home 207 Maple Ave., Hamlet.
