It’s all about the money

At one time there was a large billboard on I-75 S just above Detroit that read:

“God, Please send us someone who will cure Cancer!” God replied, “I did but his mother aborted him!”

The message from the Anti-Choice sponsors was apparent and their goal was to upset the Pro-Choice’ers.

It is quite obvious that the issue of abortion will not be settled in this country by either political party. Why? Because there is to much Money involved

So now there should be a billboard that reads: “God, Please send us someone who will heal our Nation!” God replied, “I did but the family couldn’t afford Health Care and he got sick and died!”. Why?

Same answer, “It’s all about the money.” Every time someone gets on the television, everything you read in the newspaper, on the internet, or in magazine articles the only thing they talk about is the money. Like it is going to come directly out of only their pockets. Why did we have money for the war profiteers but we can’t afford health care?

Am I the single person who thinks it odd that people who are vocally opposed to Health Care Reform in this country are benefitting directly from the Health Insurance and Health Care Industry? Congress members have spouses working directly for those industries or received MILLIONS of dollars in campaign contributions?

“If health care reform goes through rates will go up”.

They went up by over 400 percent in the last 10 years.

Isn’t greed wonderful? With a strong public choice Plan they will have competition. Isn’t that what the American free enterprise system is all about? Competition?

Ron,Ron,Ron,I see you are still blowing the liberal praise horn!Too gad youi do not talk about your hero,Obama.Remeber how you bragged sooooo much about how good of a President he was going to be?Remember how you defended "Lip"beral policy because of Obama?Do NOT worry "mo"Ron,everyone makes mistakes.Problem is that this mistake is catastrophic.

Ronald Reagan is the best President our country has had in modern times and possibly ever.Reagan inherited 12.7% unemployment and reduced it to almost nothing within a year.Reagan inherited over 14% inflation and his economics reduced it to below a half within a year.Who did Reagan inherit that mess from "mo"Ron?JIMMY CARTER,one of the worse Dems. to ever hold office. He was good with 2 things, peanuts and "BILLY BEER" otherwise,he was a failure. That is just an example of each and EVERY Democrat President in our HISTORY.You name one Democrat that changed things for the better. You name one Democrat that did not raise taxes to pay for irresponsible Government spending on ignorant policies. Not Bill Clinton either,he would've been impeached had it not been for his term ending,he was on the way out.You all say when he left, there was a surplus but you fail to mention the Republican Congress passing laws.

Supply and Demand is NOT the CORNERSTONE of a Capitalistic Democracy "mo"Ron.Supply and Demand dictates every economy in our world whether it be Communist,Socialist, totalitarianistic,or a dictatorship. If you knew what you are talking about you may have at least got the definitions right "mo"Ron.Trickle Down(supply side) economics put our economy in a powerful position and gave us recovery and you know it "mo"Ron.What is the difference with what Obama is proposing?Do you even know?He will raise you taxes considerably to get money to pay for his already failing and will fail programs. It will keep the money coming though, right "mo"Ron? You know,I don't see you bragging about Obama anymore, why is that "mo"Ron?Could it be that you realize that Obama is the biggest mistake the "lip"berals have ever made? What a bad time in our history. That's change alright. "mo"Ron ,if you would stop repeating what the "lip"beral media is brainwashing you with then you could actually make sense in your comments.Instead you babble on and on about nothing truthful.I feel bad for you "mo"Ron

Oh yeah, what is this jealousy you have over the cooperations and the people that work for them "mo"Ron?Why do you think that employees should own the cooperations they work for? That's right, you are a union mongerer "mo"Ron,I forgot, sorry about that.LOL

Ron Sr wrote...Hamletresident, I don't think Kevin1 was necessarily advocating any position but rather pointing out what one man's opinion is on the demise of democracy as we know it. There is a lot of truth to what Mr. Tyler professed, except...History proves that if you have a STRONG Middle Class, not rich and not poor, they will maintain a democracy. They fight the wars, they work the jobs, they pay the taxes, and they vote to keep things on an even keel.

The trouble with our Ship of State today is that for the last 30 years we have been fed a menu that says Supply is Good, especially if it is cheap Supply. However, Over Supply creates real problems. It overwhelms Demand. And Supply and Demand are the cornerstones of a Capitalistic Democracy.

So what happened? Voodoo Economics. The United States under Ronald Reagan, Bush 1, and W. Bush adopted Supply Side Voodoo Economics. By rejecting regulations, opening OUR markets while others closed theirs, and removing tariffs that allowed products from other countries to undercut those Made in the USA. On the surface it sounded like an excellent idea. Cheap goods.

But then the electronics factories went to Japan, Malaysia, and Singapor. The Auto Factories went to Japan, Korea, and Germany. The Textile Mills went to Vietnam, Honduras, Chile, and India. What was left? A lot of vacant buildings where Americans use to work. Americans who were paid a wage that allowed them to buy some of the treasures of the American dream. But those treasures became a burden when the bubble burst. The markets for those cheap goods have dried up just like the dust that blows through the halls of empty buildings where people use to work.

What is the reaction? Blame it on those who don't have the financial capability to defend themselves against the very people who caused the problems. The Corporate Greed Mongers. And now who is crying, those same Corporate Greed Mongers who are looking to the US Government to borrow money from the nations who offered them free land, low cost, and cheap labor. Labor that can't afford to even buy the cheap products that use to be made here in the USA by people who could afford to buy them.

It is a problem that can only be solved by the US Government developing an Industrial Policy and Trade Agreements that say basically, If you make a pair of shoes in a foreign land that cost $3 and they are shipped to this country to compete against a shoe that cost $5 we are going to tack on a tariff of $2 so that the people who buy those imported shoes will look at the quality of the product before they look at the price.

We need to put people back to work at real jobs. Not entry level, minimum wage poverty living jobs like were created under the last 30 years of Reaganomic Voodoo Supply Side economics.

And that is a fact!!!!!!!!

Kevin 1:

I am not sure about the point of your blog. Are you saying here that you promote the Tyler philosopy, or that there are people in the area who do? I am aware that there are active White Supremacy movements in this area, and I have been told by people "in the know" that they are recruting through some of the local fundamentalist

Churches in the area, and through the South in general. The usual path is to stir up as much controversy as possible by promoting such issues as anti-abortion, anti-gay rights, and racial issues. I received some alarming emails from S.C. prior to last Nov. I received one that strongly alluded to calling Obama the Anti-Christ. While it is my opinion(I am about 95% sure due to the person I received the email from) that this originated from the S.C. Republican Party, I cannot prove the fact. I called the person who sent the email in a fit of anger and ask her why in the world a so called born agin Christian would send such an email. She took me off her political email list. Again, are you promoting this issue or warning us that there are people on the blog site who do?

Fannie Mae...Kevin1 ask to explain his quote. Here it goes. People are greedy. When people gain wealth, usually off the backs and through the sweat and tears of other people, they forget the people who helped them make that money. They become Corporations. They pay people to make sure that only their interest are protected while those who toil to keep them in their wealth are then considered expendable. That is what has happened over the last 30 years of Supply Side Economics. The people who toiled in the factories and fields were sold out so that the few at the top could reap a bigger benefit by moving their American nameplate Corporation to another country where slave wages were allowed and anyone who didn't abide by the rules of the Human Corporations could be put to death or at least imprisoned.

That is the goal of the Republican Party in the country at the direction of their Corporate Masters. To make sure the Government of the people does not do anything to enrich the lives of those people thereby making it possible for them to stand up to the Corporate Slave Masters who are promoted by the Republican Party.

They are fully aware that a nation with out a strong middle class, and a working poor that is appreciated for their contribution, cannot survivve. Because the very people who are suffering the most will rise up and attack the people who are left in the middle. Thereby leaving only two classes of people, the Dirt Poor and the Filthy Rich. By doing this they will destroy Democracy and turn it into the very thing the Republican Party of the 1930's actively endorsed. Facism. Rule by the Corporate Elite supported by a Corporate Army of Mercenaries loyal to no flag, no Constitution, and no nation. It's all about the MONEY!

That pretty much sum it up, Kevin1?

I believe that when one begins mixing science with religion in order to justify individuals sins, that is when one begins trying to form a new religion. In christianity, God teaches us that sin is sin, no big ones or little ones, it is just plain old sin. Jesus teaches us to love the sinner, but we as Christians cannot cover their sin up. Only Jesus was able to die on the cross and allow his blood to flow to cover their sins. So if a Christian is now a fanatic, well I suppose that is what many of the Disciples were called so be it.

I understand the quote Kevin. That is where you and I differ. I had ancestors in this country (?) as early as the 1680's (documented information) It was not even a country at that time it was a colony. I have ancestors who appear on the first Federal Census and prior to that the first N. C. Census (documented information.)The difference in you and I is that I have a real appreciation for Christian Virtues not the phony values that are peddled by the Bible Thumping Fanatics on this web site. Did you ever wonder why so few folks from mainstream religious organizations here in the county blog on this site? Why there are so few announcements or write ups of an event from the First Baptist Church in Rockingham, or the Episcopal Church, in the religious news section of this paper?

The world is a different can of worms today. I can understand that weapons for personal defense were necessary at one time in this country. The closest law enforcement in this area would have been in Charleston, S.C. or some area in N. C. of equal distance (probably Bath or New Bern). That is how the Regulators came into being. That is not true today. The world has changed Kevin! That is the part that some of the bloggers don't seem to understand.

We no longer burn people to the stake who suffer from Bi Polar and other mental illness, under the pretense of destroying the devil. We know that these are inherited diseases. Just as we know that a person's sexual preference is genetic based. Much progress has been made in the world since 1776. Progresss is being made continually. The sad part of this is that the war mongers and religious fanatics refuse to accept the progress that science has made and is still making.

I am an older woman Kevin, but I am not a dumb older woman.

This quote from Alexander Frazier Tytler, published in 1776.

"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largess from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through this sequence: "from bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance; From abundance to selfishness; From selfishness to apathy; From apathy to dependence; From dependence back into bondage."

Ron, will you please explain that quote to Fannie Mae?

Rick, I did not call you a lier(?) I said that you need to read the newspaper that you are publishing(in order to be aware of what is bing printed in the paper and on the blog sites). Being unaware and lying are two different things. A person who denies that facts that they know are the facts is a lier. Someone who is unaware or uninformed is just that! I am too busy to make an appointment to see how you run this paper, nor do I have that much interest in the local paper. I would have more interest if the content of the paper were of more interest! I have had six medical appointments out of thown this month and dementia is not one of my medical problems. I agree with Dana! With the decline in the newspaper sales ,one would think that you would show a little more interest in the one that you are publishing!

Rick,

You really don't have to be rude about it, there is obviously something wrong with the posting on the site. Things are there one minute, gone the next. Maybe instead of an appointment with Fannie or myself, you could figure out why the postings disappearing, and what is wrong with the site!

If you need a hand, let me know. I'm fully aware how websites work and I might be able to give you a hand at fixing the posting on this one!

Fannie Mae (?) and Dana:

Call me at the Journal at 997-3111 on Monday and we'll set up a time for you to come to the paper. At that time I will show you exactly how the posts are approved for the site.

I don't understand how you have come to the conclusion that I select which of your posts I want to run and which I don't. If that were the case, chances are pretty good I wouldn't post Fannie Mae saying I'm a liar.

Make an appointment and come see for yourself. If that doesn't work for you maybe it's time for you to move on to another site.

Rick

RICK, READ YOUR DERN PAPER!!!!!!!! Danna is right! They are on the blog site one minute and off the next! Not only that, I have written several blogs that were never posted at all!

One of them was strictly addressing this issue! Put the blogs on here in the order that they are bloged (as you use to do) and stop editing them, and stop this picking and choosing which blogs you are going to post!!!!!!!!! Thank You!

Rick:

You should hire a "more intelligent" selective reader to screen the posts and throw out those deemed IGNORANT and print the INTELLIGENT ones. ..... Wow, what a low blow !

but, you would be helping the economy so much if you took Dana's advice and gave another person a JOB !

How do you stand it ? LOL

I agree with Rick! Everyone has the right to free speech. Like it or not.

November 21, 2009
What is up with the posting on here, one minute they show up the next they are gone, selectively gone I might add. Maybe the RCDJ should invest in a more intelligent selective reader, which would throw out the ignorant posts instead of the intelligent posts!

Publisher's note:

I'm not aware of any posts showing up and then disappearing.

One person's ignorant post is another person's 'treasure.'
