He was born May 5, 1928, in Richmond County, son of J.B. Gerald and Lessie Ellis Gerald.
Before retirement, he worked as a loader for a dirt and gravel company.
A private memorial service will be held for Mr. Gerald by his family.
Survivors include his six brothers, Talmadge Lee Gerald of Lexington, NC, Thurman, Jack, Ray, Johnny and Sherman Gerald all of Rockingham, NC; and two sisters, Tina Jones of Idaho and Gloria Gerald of Rockingham.
Harrington Funeral Home and Crematory served the family of Mr. Gerald.
