The month of October will be very busy for Richmond County. We began the month with by kicking off with the 2nd Annual Rally at the Rock on Oct. 2. Rally at the Rock began with a good old fashioned road rally that departs from Rockingham Speedway at 2 p.m. and will conclude with the Main St. Cruise-In. This event as presented by Richmond County Tourism and Clark, Inc. This event was also made possible by the City of Hamlet, Hamlet Business Association, Rockingham Dragway, Rockingham Speedway, Pee Dee Electric, Maness Tire & Automotive, Richmond County Daily Journal, jmacphoto.com and Marshall Office Supply.

Richmond County is also proud to be home to not one but two forms of racing and October will once again kick off Race month here in Richmond County. Rockingham Dragway and Rockingham Speedway are both one of our county’s most popular tourist destination for both racers and race fans. Both facilities are working hard to provide Richmond County with year-round entertainment and a place of employment for our residents. I ask that you support both of these tracks during the month because we are fortunate to host two national televised races during the month of October, located right here in our own backyard.

If racing is not your cup of tea then, stick around for the annual Seaboard Festival in Hamlet, always the last Saturday of October. You will surly find something on the streets of Hamlet to your liking. From the food to the arts and crafts, to the car show to the live music, they have it all. So there is no excuse Richmond countians, October has something for everyone this month. From racing, to railroads and not to mention, GO RAIDERS!
