Conservatives and Republicans want changes in health care but they want one that will not rob those who already have insurance of their right to choose and not break the bank. A plan which makes sense which is lacking in the Obama plan.
Better yet, allow Americans to read it and then allow them vote on it.
Freedom of choice is the American Way.

We have spent billions on war and bailouts, yet we have seen more American outrage over health care spending than any of the other combined. What could be the reason for this? A morally bankrupt system who has lost heart for humanity and replaced it with love of money.
I suppose it was naive of me to think Obama would actually stay true to his word, and maybe I am too idealistic, but someone needs to be! If we accept the status quo then we're doomed to more of the same! Where there is fear there is lack of faith! I pray the rest of Americans will wake up to the fear and distraction thrown out by the government, lobbyist, special interest, big business, and the list goes on and on! This is not their country, it belongs to the citizens of the US and we truly need to find a common ground as citizens and stand up to all of it!
Now you know how I felt when I came to the same conclusion. All politicians are the same.
As far as Americans and the almighty dollar are concerned, try doing much without any. The people who pay attention actually care. The problem is that we have seen billions go to the government to aid our fellow man and it ends up in the wrong hands. With all the money sent to DC we could have cured poverty, if there is such a thing as a cure, and have plenty of money left over for healthcare for those who do not have it.
This resistance to the growth of the government did not just appear when Obama was elected. Every time control of the government changes hands those who voted for the “winning” side hopes things will change but it never does. Remember’ “read my lips, no new taxes”? Almost sounds like “I will not raise taxes on those making less than $250,000”.
One of the reasons for the resistance to healthcare reform is the speed at which it is being run through. Why the rush when it will not go into effect until 2013? The democrats can’t even decide on a bill. What were they going to vote on?
Another is that this is the same people who have wasted the money we have already sent to DC.
As far as socialism is concerned, there are poor in socialist countries as well. They may have government doled healthcare, but their poor are really poor.
I have no problem helping others. I am tired of my taxes being wasted on wars that lead to more wars, government favors being passed around to buddies an friends and the problems only get worse.
Those that lob the “R” bomb are no better that those who carry the Obama witch doctor signs. They are doing neither of us any good. The politicians play right into the whole scene collecting more campaign donations and favors.
How we stop this, I do not know, but we need to or we will see what bad is really like.
We can sit and argue racism and Joe Wilson all day long, but at the end of the day, people continue to die in the "greatest nation in the world" because we remain the only industrialized nation in the world rejecting universal health care! We, the people, continue to cower to our government and their lies and fear mongering.
The US has lost any moral high ground we every thought to claim. We deny a basic need to humans while rationalizing "costs". What is the going rate for the life of a person? How can we go around and police the world, and promote democracy to other nations, when we fail our own? Racism is alive and well in the US, but far beyond racism, we have a much bigger problem. This country is morally bankrupt!
We don't use our great wealth to help our fellow man or better our country! Oh NO! That would be "socialist" and what a bad word we've made that into! God forbid, our tax dollars help anyone in need! From the far right to the far left, morality takes backseat to the almighty dollar!
I was talking to a man who makes his own Home Brew Beer. In the 1970's President Carter signed a law that made it legal for each American citizen to make 100 gallons of home brewed beer for each occupant of their home. They can't sell the beer but they and their family members can enjoy it. What a great idea. And I always thought he was a teetotalling Southern Baptist stick in the mud.
Ha!
Do you read the Nation Magazine? No one owns the Nation.
I have read some of Sowells writings. Another so called neo con who has made it and thinks if everyone would just march to the same drummer he does then all the problems would be solved. He is a conservative and so you love him. It just helps you that he is black. Sort of like the two drunk guys, one white and one black, who stand at the bar slobbering in their beers talking about how "I'm a man and your a man! I like black people (or I like white people)".
What did you expect black people to do? At first they supported Hillary and then after Obama won Iowa they started realizing that he really did have a chance. I felt the same way.
After listening to George W for 8 years and laughing at his inability to put two sentences together, remember Bush Speak?, it was refreshing to hear a man who could speak with some degree of intelligence.
My knee-jerk response? Where do you get off making a claim like that? What were all your responses, thoughtful and considered? Me thinks thou dost think to highly of thyself!
Did you ever notice that when Democratic Presidents leave office they get involved in other things to serve the people of this nation and the world? What did Nixon, Reagan, Bush 1, and Bush 2 do? Bush 1 worked with Clinton after the tsunami and Clinton got the most of the credit because he did the most work. Jimmy Carter is 80 years old, he wasn't a very good President but he has been a freewill ambassador ever since he left office. Millions of people live in their own homes because of him and his organization. He has been involved in working for peace, both officially and on his own. What have your hero's done?
And it isn't about passion, it is about what is right. People being treated like human beings instead of Corporate Expendable Items will make this nation a better place to live for everyone. Even the Corporatist.
What makes you such an SIP that you can demagog others but they can't do it to you Oh Wise One?
To compare President Obama to Adolf Hitler is racist, to say that Obama should be buried with Kennedy is racist, to show two police officers killing a monkey and then saying "I guess they will have to find someone else to come up with a stimulus bill" is racist, for Druggy Limbaugh to play a song called, "Barack the Magic Negro" on his radio program heard by millions of knuckledraggers across this nation, is racism, for Lonesome Road Beck to cry and call Obama a racist who hates white people is racism. You even admit that it is racism because you said that white people helped elect President Obama.
Your disagreement with me is the fact that you don't have any concern for the middle class working people of this country. You support the Corporatist and their greed, I support the Middle Class and their need for good paying jobs. You think people should just keep their mouths shut and do what their corporate puppetmasters tell them to do and accept whatever crumbs they push off the table for them. That attitude make this nation weaker at a time when it needs to be strong. A two class society will eventually fall.
You seem to think that you can call people names, question their intelligence, and never be challenged. You are wrong.
Now let me end this with one last point. What your hero's are doing is ensighting some loose cannon to violence against President Obama. Timothy McVey thought he would be a hero for blowing up a federal building and killing 168 innocent people. Lee Harvey Oswald was a communist who had become disillusioned with Moscow and decided to be a hero by killing a US President who had stood up to his communist hero's.
If the leaders of the "Tea Bagger" movement, Lonesome Roads Beck and Dick Armey, along with the leadership of the Republican Party, don't start to cool down the rhetoric and speak out against the voices promoting violence againt this President, "I didn't bring my GUNS...this time" then some nut case is going to take the shot thinking they are going to be revered by everyone if they kill the target.
In the 1960's we watched Detroit and Los Angeles burn. If Obama is killed that burning won't just happen in those two cities. It will be close enough to home that you and I will feel the flames.
Enough said?
Ps: I never saw any signs held up at any rally showing Clarence Thomas or Condi Rice in a racist criticism. And it wasn't just liberals criticizing both of these individuals.
Spin, spin, spin, twist, twist, twist. Your puppetmasters have trained you oh so well. Have you ever had a real thought of your own or do you constantly have to refer to the Karl Rove Play Book?
You need to read some Thomas Sowell. Seriously, I would love to know your thoughts on his writings. Do you know who he is?
Murray -
I cannot convince you I am not a racist and wouldn't even bother to try. Your constant slander of my character on this blog proves my point. You know nothing about me other than what I post - and because my views differ significantly from yours, you attribute it to the fact that I'm a racist. You never consider that I just may have different views for very good reasons - that we could disagree with sincerity. Your knee-jerk racist charge is no different that of Jimmy Carter's, Maureen Dowd's or any other of the liberals currently making this same charge against Joe Wilson.
I do admire your passion, however - even though I feel it is severely misguided.
No demogaguery, no changing subjects, no name-calling...just answer the question and tell me why you've answered it the way you do.
Ps: I didn't scroll down far enough. They did print the second comment in which I agreed with you, patriot.
I have to admit, patriot and anon, after reading your pathetic comment post this time I actually had to grab a hanky and wipe away the tears. You neo-cons have been so picked on over the last 30 plus years. I am surprised you aren't all dehidrated from crying so much. It is just amazing how you have turned the influence of the thought process over the last 30 plus years into 8 months of being picked on forever. My heart truly goes out to you.
My, My, My how you neo-cons love to spin, spin, spin.
When did anyone say anything about America being a racist nation? Where do you get that blither? Jimmy Carter never said that America was a racist nation, he saidhttp://www.yourdailyjournal.com/community/admin/cms/list#1 there were racist in America. And they don't just live in the south. And the reason racism is bubbling it's ugly head among those who are racist is because of the color of Barack Obama's skin.
So keep spinning it patriot. Keep claiming your something other than what you are, a finger pointer who takes belongs to a fring group of neo-cons who take no responsibility for their actions over the last 30 plus years. Actions that have bankrupted, seperated, and weakened this country. You can be in denial about that just as well as you can be in denial about being a racist. What difference does it make, you march in lock step with those who tell you how to march.
You are just oh so full of yourself, and full of something else too.
You like that annon?
Ps: patriot, I wrote two comments agreeing with something you said. But RCDJ wouldn't post them. Wonder why?
Publisher's note: When Ron says the RCDJ wouldn't post his comments, he is not correct. The two people who approve comments are the editor and the publisher. We have not failed to publish anything we have received unless it violates our language standards, which Ron never violates. I am not sure why Ron continues to think we censor him when we post dozens of his submissions each day.

Murray - the only sign I saw at the D.C. Tea party that mentioned racism was the one that said...
"It Doesn't Matter What I Write On This Sign, I'll Be Called A Racist Anyway"
That one was for you, Ronnie...
You liberals are so predictable...
Murray knows all this...
and.....You'd think after ALL his failures that Jimmy Carter would have learned by now to keep his mouth shut!
He needs to be in a nursing home where somebody can watch out for him and his illogical thinking ! He could be a danger to others and himself !
The up-roar about O'bama's proposals for health care has NOTHING and I repeat, NOTHING to do with the color of his skin.
You are soooooooo RIGHT !
Jimmy Carter has now joined the racist bandwagon - an ominous sign for Obama. If anyone represents this country's abhorrence of radical, liberal policy - it is the WHITE guy who lost 44 states to Reagan in 1980. This desperate, pitiful approach will fail...and I think you probably know it.
But I was and am an activist. I marched on Washington DC three times for Jobs and Justice. I worked to make the lives of other people better. We marched for Jobs and Justice for everyone regardless of Race, Creed, Color, National Origin, or Sexual Preference. 500,000 strong.
So you can look at your great "Tea Party" marchers and see the racism that comes from their signs. Not about health care but about hating President Obama. Or you can listen to Right Wing radio talkers such as Druggy Limbaugh or Lonesome Road Glenn Beck and others as they spew their hatred while they wallow in their millions which they earn by spewing hate. Remember Druggy and his favorite song, "Barack the Magic Negro?" Or Crazy Beck claiming that Obama hates white people?
Maybe you have battled racism all of your life, I don't know. But the people for whom you argue in favor of taking over this country are using you to further their agenda. Just as Ronald Reagan, GHW Bush, and GW Bush never reduced the size of government, nor did they outlaw abortion, they supported those who put more people in the ranks of poverty not at a loss to the wealthiest Americans but at a loss to the middle class.
And it is the sons and daughters of the poor and middle class who are bearing the brunt of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. And why are most of them in the military and serving in those war zones? So that when their service to our nation is over they will be able to enjoy the benefits of the New GI Bill, passed by the Democrats, allowing them to go to college free of charge and raise themselves out of the poverty that was holding them back. I am proud that I am a Progressive Liberal American.
You can dish it but you can't take it.
Maybe you should all buy the new book, Speech-Less about George W. Bush.
Sounds like you would all love it.
