The U.S. Senate did the right thing by passing a resolution apologizing for slavery and ‘’Jim Crow‘’ laws.

The House of Representatives passed a similar resolution last year. I think the Supreme Court should also issue an apology. Slavery should never have been constitutional in the first place.

Bonnie I have one question for you. How's your governor doing? You always rant and rave about Bill Clinton. Just want to know what you think of your governor.

I see that you haven't blogged today? What's wrong?

I'm sorry, but that's a load of you know what. I mean, if I had ever owned slaves, I'd apologize, but because I haven't, I think that's a waste of my elected officials' time, and I'm ashamed of them for going up there and strutting around trying to look important doing something that does not effect them. There is no living person in this country that was around during the time of slavery.

As far as Jim Crow laws, if you ARE offensive to a person, apologize. If you were offensive to a person, then you should have already apologize.

People seem to forget where slaves come from. Slaves were brought from Africa. Brought into slavery by European nations - and get this, lots of times, sold into slavery by rival African tribes.

So, hrmm, I think certain parts of African need to be apologizing to our African American population - no, wait a minute. Many of these locations where slaves were heavily brought from - 400-500 years ago are now heavily war-torn, ravaged, and not exactly pleasant places to be today. I think we should leave the past the past.

History should serve as a reminder not to make the same mistakes twice, but do not apologize for something that you did not do.

I mean, honestly, do I stop every - or ANY - for that matter, African American people, and ask, or even think that I deserve an apology because some gang-banger is trying to hold me up for my money? No, because that person didn't do it. Do I blame my Latino neighbor for all of the illegals that are coming into the country? No, because he's 3 generations legal.

Sorry for the stereotypes, but the notion of Mr. Mann's letter (I bet your mom had a field day with that when you were growing up, "Mr Mann!") is just flat-out ridiculous.

Chuck, if your goal is to correct all errors from our nations past shouldn`t you start with the destruction and disbanding of the Indian Nations and the annialation of the bufflo herds to please the railroad magnates?

To keep re-opening an old wound will not allow it to heal, so leave big things to bigger minds and go to work on Greensboros current problems.

Black people are doing fine.

I know slavery was wrong, but why should we apologize for something none of us alive today had to do with, what about the white men that died fighting for their freedom,do we need to apologize to their families too? I've never heard any talk about that.just think if slavery never happened, where would we be today
