She was born August 6, 1923 in Richmond County, daughter of the late John and Marie Quick. She was a member of the Holy City Church of God and Christ in Rochester, NY.
Myrtle worked as a Registered Nurse at the former Hamlet Hospital before moving to Rochester, N.Y. She continued her career at the Beechnut Company and the Jewish Nursing Home until her retirement.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Willie Bennett, Sr and David Hill, her daughter-in-law, Lorraine R. Bennett and a granddaughter, Lorraine McDonald Strickland.
Funeral Service will be held at Nelson Funeral Service Chapel in Rockingham on Monday, June 8, 2009 at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in the Mary Love Cemetery in Hamlet.
She is survived by her children, Marjorie Bennett McDonald of Sanford and Willie Frank Bennett, Jr. of Hamlet; Three granddaughters and two grandsons; six great-granddaughters and six great-grandsons.
Nelson Funeral Service of Rockingham is in charge of services.
