Mrs. Doris Ann Manning, 75 of 103 Rohanen Avenue, Rockingham, died Friday, May 8, 2009 at FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital. She was born May 4, 1934 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Walker and Catherine Taylor Culley.

Mrs. Manning was a Certified Nursing Assistant, having worked in private care and the Palmer Hinson Care Center for many years.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Monday, May 11th in the chapel of Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham with Rev. Russell Edwards officiating. Interment will follow at Richmond Memorial Park.

Surviving are a daughter, Lynn Kimball of Hamlet; three sons, David Manning, II of Rockingham, Walker Brown of Hamlet, and Troy Silphen of Rockingham; four grandchildren and one great grandchild; and sister, Betty Matthews of Walterboro, SC. Mrs. Manning was preceded in death by her husband, David Manning, Sr. in 2002, and siblings, Fred Culley, Grady Culley, and Jean Smith.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and other times at the home.
