SOUTHERN PINES — The Pinecrest women’s soccer team blanked Richmond 10-0 Wednesday night in a Mid-Southeastern Conference soccer match.

The Lady Patriots were leading 2-0 after 25 minutes of play in the first half, when the team exploded with four goals in the next eight minutes to take a 6-0 lead into halftime.

“We made the same mistakes we have been making every game this year,” coach Bennie Howard said.

Pinecrest came out of halftime and tacked on three more goals in the first 20 minutes of the second half and closed out the scoring with a tally late in the contest.

The loss dropped Richmond to 4-8-1 overall and 4-6 in the MSEC.

In the junior varsity game, Pinecrest defeated Richmond 5-0.
