She was born October 4, 1918 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Sam and Ila Greene King. Mrs. Haywood retired from Carolina Paper Mill and was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy for over fifty years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd Haywood, a daughter Mildred Helton and sisters Iola Hinson and Myrtle Morgan.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 2, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Marshall Norris officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond Co. Memorial Park.
Surviving, Three daughters, Carol Ann Long and Besty Haywood Tanner, both of Rockingham and Fran Driggers of Ellerbe. A son, Greg Haywood of Rockingham. A sister, Ruby Whitley of Rockingham. Thirteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Church of God of Prophecy and at other times at the home of her daughter Carol Long, 125 Pinecroft St., Rockingham, NC 28379.
