Mrs. Jeanette McDuffie Forbis, 93, of Rockingham died Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Richmond Pines Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Hamlet. She was born April 24, 1919 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Arthur and Bertha Boyette McDuffie.

Mrs. Forbis was retired from J. P. Stevens.

Funeral services will be conducted graveside 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 20th at Richmond Memorial Park in Rockingham with Rev. Russell Edwards officiating.

Surviving are four daughters, Betty F. Baxley of Laurinburg, Judy F. James of Rockingham, Kay F. Howe of Hamlet, and Pam F. Drucker of Hamlet; nine grandchildren, Dana Loving, Lisa Hassler, Dawn Chavis, Donnie Forbis, Jr., April Sheffield, Gilda Howe, Susanne Forbis, Brooke Taylor, and Jody Clary; and twelve great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernie “Buck” Forbis, a son, Donnie Forbis, a grandson, Chris Baxley; a sister, Gladys Lovette, and three brothers, Arthur McDuffie, Jr., Harry McDuffie, and Gilbert McDuffie.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 7 pm at Watson -King Funeral Home in Rockingham and other times at 415 Third St., Hamlet.
