Mrs. Catherine M. “Kathy” Rodgers, age 59 passed away Thursday January 31, 2013 at her home.

She was born August 21, 1953 in Richmond County, NC, the daughter of the late Mr. Clayton Stanfield Moree and the late Mrs. Jewel Elizabeth Watkins Moree. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband: Jerry Albert Rodgers.

Mrs. Rodgers is survived by two daughters: Cindy Willoughby of Charlotte, NC and Karyn Aldridge and husband Robbie of Monroe, NC; two sons: Spencer Rodgers and wife Erica of Monroe, NC and Jeffrey Rodgers of Monroe, NC; one brother: Stan Moree and wife Terri of Rockingham, NC; five grandchildren: Spencer Rodgers II, Megan Rodgers and Lindsay Smith, Kacie Aldridge and William Aldridge.

The family will receive friends and relatives for visitation Friday February 1, 2013 from 7:00 Pm until 9:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Home in Monroe.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Rodgers will be 2:00 PM Saturday February 2, 2013 in the Mineral Springs United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Talbot Davis, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

The family suggests that memorials be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Charlotte Region, 1420 East Seventh Street, Charlotte, NC 28204.
