Take a nostalgic journey through one of the most popular movie musicals of the last 50 years, when “Hooray for Hollywood” is performed live on stage at the Cole Auditorium on Feb. 7 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available for the performance that is a part of the DeWitt Performing Arts Series.

Cole Auditorium Director Joey Bennett said, “This show is our big stage production for the year with sets and costumes that will rival our recent Broadway performances.”

“Hooray for Hollywood” features recreations of dozens of the most recognizable scenes and songs from beloved movie classics as well as recent releases. The high-energy show features film clips from movies such as: “Footloose,” “Titanic,” “Grease,” “Dirty Dancing,” “Singing in the Rain” and “The Blues Brothers.”

The show includes dancers and singers, a band live on-stage, and more than 300 costume changes.

“Hooray for Hollywood” is highlighted by more than 30 songs including all of the most recognizable sound track favorites like: “Staying Alive,” “All that Jazz,” “Dancing Queen,” “Jailhouse Rock,” and many more.

In describing the show, Box Office Manager Kiana Taylor said, “Each segment of the show will be introduced with actual footage from the film, then live performers will take the stage to recreate the singing and dancing that follows the clip.”

A video excerpt of a “Hooray for Hollywood” performance is available on the Cole Auditorium pages of the Richmond Community College website at www.richmondcc.edu.

“Every time I view the video, I get more and more excited about the show and I think that audience members will too,” said Bennett.

While DeWitt Series season ticket holders will enjoy the performance as a part of their season ticket package, single tickets are still available for the performance for $30 each and can be purchased by calling 910-410-1691 or by visiting the Cole Box Office at 1042 W. Hamlet Ave, Hamlet. Cash, check and VISA and MasterCard are accepted. Call the box office or visit www.richmondcc.edu for more information.
