Dustin Mitchell Bowers, formerly of Rockingham, son of Angela and Dan Hensel of Charlotte, NC, graduated on Saturday, December 15, from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Dustin is currently employed as a Research Assistant at the College of Computing and Informatics at UNC Charlotte where he focuses his research on biomedical video processing in the field of computer vision. He recently co-authored two White Papers on the subject of ultrasound image analysis of the heart which were submitted to the 2013 International Symposium on Biomedical Imaging (ISBI) for publication. He is currently pursuing a Master of Architecture III/Computer Science Duel Degree at UNC Charlotte. Dustin’s hobbies include playing guitar and computer design/3D modeling. He is the grandson of Katherine Bowers and Mickey Bowers and the great-grandson of Dot Long, all of Rockingham.
