CAMDEN, S.C. — Four Richmond Senior players reached double figures as the Raiders down Camden Military Academy 65-55 Tuesday night.
Xavier Davis and Shydamion Ellerbe each scored 16 points to lead the way for Richmond (7-1), while Jalen McDonald added 12 and Kendo Wallace had 10. Davis hit 7-of-9 free throws in the contest, while McDonald connected on three 3-point field goals.
“It was a very physical game in a hostile environment,” Richmond coach David Laton said. “It was a good win for us. They surprised us with their athleticism.”
Laton added the Raiders were forced to play a majority of the game without Jordan Richardson, who was saddled with foul trouble. Richardson eventually fouled out in the fourth quarter.
Without Richardson’s presence inside, Richmond was out-rebounded by Camden Military Academy.
“I haven’t seen the final stats, but we need to do a better job on the boards,” Laton said. “We are still undefeated on the road which will pay off for us down the road.”
The Raiders have now won three in a row after losing to Marlboro County (S.C.) at home on Dec. 11. They will return to the hardwood 7:30 p.m. today when South Robeson visits Raider Gymnasium.
