Maxine Herlocker Ussery McIntyre, 97, passed away at her home in Gold Hill on Friday, November 16, 2012.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 20, at Wesley Chapel UMC from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm. The memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm in the church sanctuary. The service will be officiated by Rev. John Bryant and Rev. Jim Allred. The burial will follow at a later date at Friendship UMC of Albemarle NC.
Mrs. McIntyre was born on May 2, 1915 to the late Jonah Alexander and Ada Arana Hatley Herlocker. She was preceded in death by her first husband Paul Tucker Ussery and second husband Howard Charles McIntyre.
She is survived by her two daughters, Julie Kluttz and husband John of Gold Hill; Nancy McLean and husband Ed of Raleigh; one sister, Mary Brown Little of Stanfield; five grandchildren, David Kluttz, Sally Simerson, Betsy Hawfield, Will and Joseph McLean; three great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; four step children Richard Mcintyre and wife Wanda McIntyre of Rockingham, Charles McIntyre of Ellerbe, Karen Myers of Advance, and Ruth Marion of Mt. Airy.
The family requests that memorials be made to Hospice at 960 N First St, Albemarle NC, 28001, and Wesley Chapel UMC, 46963 Wesley Chapel Rd, Misenheimer NC, 28019.
The family of Maxine would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Stanly County Hospice; Robin, Darlene, Brittani and Kristin. Also the family would like to thank Dr. Amir Koohestani and his staff at Richfield Medical Center.
